Years 5/6 Keystage 2
Welcome to Foxes This year, we will be working really hard, but having lots of fun too!
In fox class, pupils are expected to read at home every day. An adult or an older sibling needs to write a comment in their reading record at least three times a week to say that they have heard them read. Weekly spellings are given out on a Monday. Pupils are provided with a book to practice their spellings, which needs to be returned to school every day.
Pupils are also asked to practice their times tables at home daily. Being able to recall multiplication and related division facts will enable pupils to perform a wide range of calculations more efficiently.
In the build up to SATs, year 6 pupils will also receive a maths revision book, containing arithmetic and problem solving questions. Pupils are expected to complete 2 sections of this book a week. If they encounter any difficulties/problems with any of the questions, please encourage your children to speak to me. I will always find a time to go through it with them.
